Five-time Grammy Award winner Jimmy Jam is a renowned songwriter, record producer, musician, entrepreneur, and half of the most influential and successful duo in modern music history. Alongside his longtime partner, Terry Lewis, Jimmy's accomplishments have elevated him to iconic status as a living legend within the music industry. Together the duo has been steering pop artists to unprecedented commercial success for more than 30 years.  

To date Jam and his partner Terry Lewis have collaborated on over 100 Gold and/or Platinum records for a diverse array of artists including Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, Sting, Elton John, Mary J Blige, Usher, Beyonce, Luther Vandross, Rod Stewart, Earth, Wind & Fire, Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar, Gwen Stefani, Willie Nelson, New Edition, Sounds of Blackness, The Time, and Janet Jackson. 

From pop, soul, dance, and rap, to gospel, rock, country and reggae, their distinct sound has spanned across all genres. In total, they have written and/or produced over 100 albums and singles that have reached Gold, Platinum or Diamond sales, including 26 #1 R&B singles and 16 #1 pop hits giving Jam & Lewis more Billboard #1’s than any other duo in chart history.

Jam and Lewis won their first Grammy Award for Producer-of-the-Year in 1986 and have received ten more Producer-of-the-Year nominations since, giving them the most Producer-of-the-Year noms in Grammy history. As songwriters, Jam and Lewis have garnered over 100 ASCAP Awards, and have won ASCAP Writers-of-the-Year award a record breaking 9 times. The duo has also been honored with Oscar and Golden Globe nominations, and have been immortalized with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Jimmy Jam is the former Chairman of the Board of the Recording Academy and was the first African American to be elected to that position. He currently serves as a board member of the Grammy Museum.
